Greek Isles
Emma and I took a well earned break and decided to holiday in the greek isles. One week in crete on a holiday package and the next week on Santorini. I think the pictures tell which was the better place. We met up with good friends Jimbo and Larry and Ben and Huey as well who were also touring on their own. We spent the week in Santorini on motorbikes and scooters, bating by the pool, doing adventure trips, drinking the cheap beer and wine and crying into our cheap beer after Australia were knocked out of the soccer world cup by the Italians....

Egypt - Cairo 5th - 8th August
Cairo - Hot Hot Hot!!! a dirty city, but nevertheless an amazing city. We spent a few days looking around the city before our Oasis Overland tour started. The first day of the tour (8th Aug) saw a trip to the Egyptian History Museum, lunch at a perfumery and then the amazing pyramids and sphinx!!

Casablanca Morocco 1st Aug - 4th Aug
An interesting city... We check out Hassan II mosque with its enormous tower and generally take in the city famed for the movie. The first night is spent in a hotel that has collapsable beds...or should I say beds that sink, hard to describe but really no sleep says it all. And to top it off we get charged for a cold shower. The days are spent walking around the medinas and taking photos..
A slight incident occurred afte Maryke got some photos developed that turned out to be ruined by the developer. After calmly discussing the issue with the shops employees and another friend of the owner, we were getting nowhere...Step in Simmo! Fingers were pointed, arguments followed, lots and lots of swearing, objects being thrown, and then people finally being physically refrained from taking further action!!! Interesting to say the least!!! The final day in Casablanca saw Chook have minor panic when he went to collect his memory card from the shop only to find the shop closed and owner no where to be seen! A passerby who new the owner helped us to track him down, but then a mad dash to the train station ensued, which saw us jump on the train with only a few mins to spare.... Phew

El Jadida
From Safi we caught a taxi to El Jadida (i think about 3 hrs) A mad ride if anything! 4 of us crammed in the back, and 2 in the front passenger seat and the bags somehow strapped to the roof, this certainly wasnt comfortable! It wasnt expensive but I guess you get what you pay for.
We spent a day or so here just doing our own thing...
